Mary Dohrmann Beyer's Obituary
Mary Dohrmann Beyer, a woman of bright wit, a radiant broad smile, and a devotion to those she loved, passed peacefully in Palo Alto, California on March 14, 2026.
Born Mary Isabelle Dohrmann to Alberta Isabelle Phillips and George Waldenmeier Dohrmann in Palo Alto and raised in Stockton, Mary’s future adventures changed when she met her husband, Robert Keith Beyer (Bob) at the Stockton Symphony. Their meeting began a 64-year journey of love and partnership with tours in Guam, throughout California, and on the East Coast via Bob’s U.S. Navy career.
Above all, Mary was dedicated to her family. She paused her teaching career to raise her two daughters, Lauren Alberta Beyer (Stoll) and Andrea Helen Beyer (Green), ensuring that no matter where the Navy took them, they always had a home filled with love. She was delighted to return to teaching preschool, enjoying both the children and the camaraderie with her co-teachers.
Mary found great joy in the simple pleasures of life and always enjoyed a good laugh. An animal lover from childhood, she grew up enjoying horseback riding and cared for her beloved dogs throughout her life. She was a passionate gardener and cherished her time shopping and sharing laughter with her dear friends. Her humor and heart were the foundation upon which her loving family was built.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; her daughter Andrea Beyer Green (John Green); and her cherished grandchildren; Anne, Alicia, and Matthew (children and stepchildren of Lauren and Mark Stoll), and Kyra and Luke (children of Andrea and John Green). She was also the proud great-grandmother of Autumn, Harvey, Luke, and Nora. She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lauren.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Her family will hold her memory close in every garden they tend and every smile they share.
To honor Mary’s life and her resilient spirit, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
