Moulton, Marjorie M.'s Obituary
Marjorie (Ann) Mahan Moulton was born in Augusta, Maine in 1930 and raised in Auburn, Maine. After traveling throughout Europe studying art and architecture, she graduated from Boston University with a degree in Art History and Applied Arts. Marge worked on the technical illustrations for the Nautilus submarine under the U.S. Navy before marrying Daniel Bailey Moulton (also of Auburn, Maine) in1953. She became a Navy officer’s wife for the four years of Dan’s active duty which included living in California and Hawaii. The family moved back to New England for employment and educational opportunities, living in Marblehead and Belmont, Massachusetts. Marge joined the Harvard Women’s Glee Club and occasioned the numerous art museums in the Boston area while raising her children.
In 1964, the family moved back to the West Coast, this time to a new house in Belmont, California. Here Marge dabbled in modern paint styles, worked on a sewer bond issue, and eventually became a teacher’s assistant at Nesbit Elementary School. When the teacher she worked with retired, Marge became the school librarian where she was known as “Mrs. M & M”. Her library bulletin boards displayed her extensive artistic talents.
Summers were spent camping and some backpacking until her knees gave out! The desire for adventure was fulfilled by trips with an Airstream trailer group to Churchill (Manitoba, Canada) to see the polar bears, to Alaska, to Australia and New Zealand, and numerous trips throughout the American West. Marge is survived by her daughter Michal (Kee Chong), her son David, her four grandchildren Bradford, Rachel (Jeff), Régine (Chris), Brendon, and her four great grandchildren Wren, Olivia, Etta, and Remy
