Marjorie Hroziencik's Obituary
Marjorie Hroziencik died peacefully at home in San Mateo surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 22 , 2016 after a battle with cancer. She was 74 years old.Born on July 16,1941 in Queens, New York, Marjorie was the youngest child of Herman and Margaret Dippold. She graduated from South Side High School in Rockville Centre, NY and went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in home economics from Valparaiso University in 1963. On August 17, 1963 she married William J. Hroziencik. In 1964, the Hrozienciks started a family and moved west to California.Marjorie loved to host meals for her family and friends. She adored animals, especially her dogs who stayed faithfully at her bedside during her finals weeks.Marjorie enjoyed gardening, crafts, and sewing. As a young mother, she sewed clothes and blankets for her children, and later in life, she made Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She also volunteered for many years at Kainos Home & Training Center.Marjorie is survived by her husband of 52 years, William; her four children Michael (Patti) Hroziencik of Burlingame, Lisa (David) Stathas of Sunnyvale, Scott Hroziencik of Redwood City, and Amy (Chris) Selmi of San Carlos, as well as three grandchildren Alana, Eve, and Liam of Burlingame. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Jungen of Alabama. Her brother Edwin Dippold preceded her in death.Marjorie will be laid to rest at Skylawn Memorial Park in a private ceremony. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 600 42nd Ave., San Mateo.
