Mario Alberto Aguirre. born on January 23, 1943 in Choluteca, Honduras passed away on January 1st, 2020 in Redwood City, California.
Born to Col. Enrique Aguirre and Maria S. Aguirre, at age 20 he moved to San Francisco from Honduras in 1963 and saved up to build a life and waited for and married his long time love Sara Maria Aguirre in 1965, and together they raised two children, Gisselle and Steven Aguirre. Grandfather to Alex, Gabrielle, Andres and Carlos. He worked primarily in the accounting field serving as a General Manager and Corporate Controller for much of his career. He was a founder and President of the Bay Area Honduran Association which helped raise funds for and awareness of Honduran causes including aid for victims of Hurricane Fifi. A wine connoisseur, Mario had quite the palette for French and German selections. Fanatical in his support of the San Francisco Giants he listened or watched most of the team's games since the 1978 season and was happy for the three World Series titles won in the past decade..
He is survived by his wife Sara, his daughter Gisselle, son Steve, grandchildren Alex, Gabrielle. Andres and Carlos and Mario's sisters Sarvellia, Esperanza and Chochi and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded by siblings Enrique, Gloria, Martha.
