Marilyn Waterman's Obituary
Marilyn Waterman 8/24/37 – 12/29/14Our dear mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend passed too soon at 77 years old after heroically battling cancer for a year and a half. She was at her home in San Mateo surrounded by her loved-ones.Marilyn was a San Mateo resident for over 57 years, previously born and raised in San Francisco and attended Mission High. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word, caring for her husband Cliff since 1955, (deceased in 2005) and her family.Marilyn loved life, enjoyed watching her children’s sporting events and then her grandchildren’s, was an avid bowler, a volunteer at Mills Hospital, and loved watching American Idol and the Voice. Our fondest memories are spending summers at Clear Lake and the numerous cruises she took the family on. She was funny, compassionate, loyal, generous, athletic, wise, direct, considerate, and most of all devoted. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Besser) and Kimberly (Wilkinson) and her son David, as well as her sons-in-law, Bob and Michael and her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann, her eight grandchildren, Erin, Stephen, Lucy, Eric, Matt, James, Mark and Lindsey, and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Oliver, as well as all her nieces and nephews, and very special friends. Our hearts are broken, but our memories will last a lifetime. There will be a Celebration of Marilyn’s Life on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. at her home at 28 Belford Way in San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.
