Maria Antonia Renazco's Obituary
Maria Antonia Renazco (Mary), age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday November 6, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 21, 1941, in Masaya, Nicaragua, to David Cuadra and Bertha Renazco. She spent most of her childhood and went to school in Masaya. In her early twenties, she moved to Managua to study and graduated from Instituto de Comerico (Business Institute).
Mary worked as a secretary at El Retiro Hospital and at the Government Office in Managua, Nicaragua. In 1980 Mary and her children immigrated to the United States to escape the Revolutionary War in Nicaragua. They created a life for themselves in San Francisco and Mary started her own business transporting goods between Nicaragua and San Francisco. After several years of working out of her home, Mary was able to expand her business and owned for a little while her own store called "Un Rincón de Nicaragua. She worked as a caretaker also.
Mary was a deeply spiritual woman who shared God's love with others. She proclaimed her faith in Jesus Christ as her savior and she loved reading the Bible and doing her devotionals every morning. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
The impact of Mary's life on countless people will be felt for years to come. She leaves a legacy that will live on forever through the many stories she shared and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know her.
She will be missed dearly as a loving mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her parents David Cuadra and Bertha Renazco, sister Vilma Anzoáteguia daughter Martha Johnson, and son in law Jerry Gutierrez. Mary is survived by her three beloved children, Martin, Grace, and Maria, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be at Skylawn Funeral Home Highway 92 and Route 35, San Mateo, CA 94402 on Friday November 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Following the burial there will be a gathering at Celia's Restaurant Laurelwood Shopping Center, 3190 Campus Drive, San Mateo, CA 94403
