Celebrating the Life of Maria Francisca Moreira de MunozMaria Francisca was born December 4th, 1917 in Managua, Nicaragua. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family, February 15th, 2016 in Concord, California. Mom was 98 years old.Our mom earned a teaching degree and worked as an elementary teacher. She was a devout Catholic, and devoted her life to helping others. Some examples of her helping others were to visit the sick. She visited and entertained people afflicted with Leprosy, and she visited and fed the incarcerated. Mom also organized toy drives for the needy.She immigrated to United States of America in 1985 after dad passed away. Mom became a U.S. citizen on June 2nd, 1998, she was very proud to vote in the U.S. election.Mom also became very involved with Saint John the Evangelist Parish in San Francisco, California. Our mom joined a prayer group, visited the sick, and joined the Legion of Mary. She also established a Chapter of the Association of Ancora de Maria in San Francisco, California at Saint John Parish. This congregation of devout Catholicsoffer prayers and sacrifice to God our Lord for the people that are dying so God can forgive their sins.Our mom in her lifetime made thousands of Rosaries inspired by her devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary, and gave them away to congregations, families, friends, etc. She passed this tradition on to her daughters, son-in-law, and others.Maria Francisca was the daughter of Maximo Moreira and Rosa Uriarte de Moreira. She is pre deceased by her loving husband, Orlando Munoz Cardenas. She was a devoted mother of 9 children, 32 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mom will be greatly missed by us all. May the Lord keep her in his Loving Arms.Viewing and Rosary will be held at Skylawn Cemetary and Memorial Park in San Mateo Ca. on Monday February 22nd from 3:15 – 7:00 pm. The Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday February 23rd at St. John the Evangelist Church 19 St. Mary’s Ave. SF. CA at 10:15 am Followed by Gravesite service at Skylawn Cemetery San Mateo.
