Margarita passed away on July 27, 2016, surrounded by family members.Originally from Durango, Mexico, she came to California in 1956, with her mom and two sisters (Dora & Maria) to join the rest of the family. They first settled in Nipomo, CA but then came to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1958, where after enjoying a wonderful courtship she became the beloved wife of Rodolfo Pelayo for 55 years. They were married on October 20, 1960. They met while dancing with friends in Oakland, CA. At social gatherings and dance clubs they were always “energizing” their friends as they were the first couple out on the dance floor and continued this trend into their twilight years. She will perhaps be best remembered for her infectious smile and laugh. Her culinary skills will always be remembered as she loved to cook “Chile con carne” for everyone and was BEST known as “Pancake Grandma.” She lived a devoted life to faith, family and friends. She loved playing rummy, bingo and frequented the casinos.Margarita was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Always remembering everyone on his or her birthdays, holidays and anniversaries. She was the devoted mother of Leticia, Rudy (Lee), Gloria (Craig), David and Teresa (Andy). She was very attached to all her grandchildren Amanda, Erica, Vanessa, Cristian, Sebastian, Joaquin and newly born Keira.
