Margaret G. Crane's Obituary
On April 2016 Margaret Crane celebrated her 100th birthday in Belmont, CA with over 100 friends and family members. She was born to Franz and Jennie Grothe on April 27, 1916 in Ukiah, California and passed away peacefully on December 20, 2016 in her home in Belmont.Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward Crane, her son Richard Crane, her sisters Carol Kesey and Connie Weaver. Margaret is survived by her daughter Barbara Del Bono, her grandchildren John Del Bono (Rebecca), Jeff Del Bono, Michael Del Bono (Jackie), Jill Crane, her brother Daniel Grothe; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Margaret taught school for 53 years and was passionate about the education of children. In retirement she enjoyed volunteer tutoring, hand bell choir, book groups, retired teacher’s meetings and her Circle friends from Hillsdale Methodist Church.A private burial will take place on December 26 at Skylawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at Hillsdale Methodist Church in San Mateo, on Saturday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 am.In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be sent to the Tutoring Learning Center at Hillsdale Methodist Church.Margaret’s family would like to thank her longtime caregivers Esmeralda Carmona, Mariai and Melissa Holtzer and Miryam Osorio.We will miss Margaret’s smile and positive spirit.
