Madhushree Paitnaik's Obituary
Madhushree Patnaik, 51, of San Jose, CA passed away on October 29th, 2022, peacefully, in her sleep. It was sudden and unexpected and the family is unaware of the cause at this time, awaiting the results of medical examination.
Madhu was born in the coastal Indian city of Puri, famous for the Jagannath Temple, to parents (Late) Nrusingha Prasad Patnaik and Annapurna Patnaik. She studied at Convent School and BJB College, both at Bhubaneswar. After graduating with an MA in Economics from Utkal University and an MBA from ICFAI, New Delhi, she worked at Jindal and Skyview as a marketing manager.
In 1999, she met Saroj Sahu, and they got married in 2000, after which she moved to the SF Bay Area together with him. They were blessed with their only child, their son Anwesh, in 2004. He is currently a freshman at UC, Davis.
After working for some time at Wachovia Bank and American Express, she co-founded several start-up companies : Deeya Energy, Science Cadets, MiraiFlora, and Golden Gate Battery, and ran the HR, Finance and Operations in their early days.
Madhu was predeceased by her father, who passed away soon after her marriage. She is survived by her mother Annapurna, son Anwesh, husband Saroj and her beloved dog, Juliet.
Services will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home at Hwy 92, San Mateo, CA at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 7th, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in money or kind to any under-privileged child of your acquaintance, as she was very passionate about the cause, and was working with several such families, and wanted to open a school for such children.
Madhu knew how to live life, and was deeply religious. She loved to travel, and build & help new companies. She greatly enjoyed the last 5 years of her life in the new house she built, among the large number of flower shrubs she had planted.
