Luisa Gloria Gonzalez
August 19, 1936 - November 23, 2023
Luisa Gloria Gonzalez was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, and was the daughter of Ana Maria Gonzalez, and Francisco Celedon. She Had three brothers, Francisco, Luis, and David.
In 1963, she immigrated to the United States, and became a proud US citizen. Gloria’s first concern was to return to San Salvador, to bring her daughter, Grace Patricia, and her mother to the United States.
Gloria married, Donald Eduardo Thumas, a US Army soldier, and they were blessed with three children, Theresa, Gloria Lorena, and Steve. The family lived in several states through his military career and enjoyed memorable adventures.
Gloria faced many challenges, but with resolute determination, made her home in San Francisco, California and was gainfully employed for 18 years at UC Medical Center. She retired and moved to Redwood City, California, where she heartily cared for her grandchildren. Gloria was blessed to live long enough to enjoy her great grandchild Penelope.
Gloria enjoyed music, dancing, had an exquisite sense of style, and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be remembered: for her beauty, selfless nature, generosity of spirit and moral values which she instilled in future generations. Gloria is survived by her brother David, her four children: Grace Patricia, Theresa, Gloria Lorena, and Steve. Grandchildren: Christian, Mathew, Anthony, Esteban, Tatyana, and her great granddaughter Penelope.
