Luen Kwun Chan's Obituary
Luen Kwun Chan, born December 30th 1934 in Zhaoqing, China, passed away on August 23rd, 2012 in San Dimas, California at the age of 77. On December 14th 1963, Luen Kwun Chan married Wen Jen Chan Tam, in Hong Kong, China. In 1964, the young couple welcomed their first child, Christina. In 1966, their son, Gerald was born and in 1969, the growing family welcomed John. Luen Kwun Chan and his wife moved to Saratoga, Ca. in 2002 where Luen Kwun enjoyed fishing and Mah Jong. In additions, Luen Kwun loved to spend time playing ping-pong and origami with his grandchildren. Luen Kwun Chan is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Wen Jen Chan Tam, his children; Christina and Patrick Fung of Hacienda Heights, CA, and Gerald and Yvonne Chan of Saratoga, CA, and John and Anna Chan of Hong Kong, as well as his grandchildren Desmond and Nicole Chan of Saratoga, CA. Luen Kwun Chan worked in the clothing industry in Hong Kong for over 50 years – where he earned a nickname 'Uncle' throughout the industry. Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects to Mr. Chan on Saturday, September 1, 2012 beginning at 11:00am. Services will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Route 35 at Highway 92 in San Mateo, California. The Chan family would like to extend a special thank you to Shirley and Yvonne from Vitas Innovative Hospice Care. Luen Kwun Chan will be remembered for his kind, generous and sociable nature.
