Lubai Zhang's Obituary
Lubai was born on March, 6, 1932, in Shanghai, China to Zhaoyun Yang and Peiheng Zhang. He passed away on Friday, October, 19, 2018, at home in Mountain View, California.He attended Jiao Tong University in Shanghai to study electrical engineering. After graduating from college, he worked in Beijing and specialized in Hydro-Electrical Design until his retirement. He immigrated to US in 1999.Lubai loved his work and family. He lived life through simple pleasures; he played on his high school basketball team and enjoyed shooting hoops and watching NBA seasons. He also loved singing, classical music and opera. He was in school choir from a young age and loved singing Karaoke at home with family and friends. He was also a great cook and his family loved all his cooking. His other hobbies include watching birds, watching club soccer games, and spending time with his grandchildren.Lubai was wheelchair bound after he suffered from acute transverse myelitis in 2009. Since then, he has been battling chronic pain and other medical complications.Lubai loved his families, and enjoyed his friends, colleagues and caretakers. Thank you for being part of Lubai’s life.He is survived by his wife Liju Weng of 59 years, who loved and cared for him; Daughter Hilda, Son Ray, Son-in-law Chih-Kang, Daughter-in-law Liz, Grandchildren children, Natalie, Alex, Anna. Sister Meibai Zhang and brother Yebai Zhang. 张路白先生生平：张路白先生，祖籍上海， 生于1932年3月6日在上海的红房子医院， 父张佩恒， 母杨昭云，他为家中长子，下有妹张梅白，弟张也白。自小求学于上海惠中。毕业于上海交通大学后进入华北电力设计院工作到60岁退休。退休后又应聘到华能电力设计院，依靠他的英文基础，在华能工作期间，能直接和外国专家交流，曾去法国短期工作。直至1999年移民美国。他年轻时酷爱体育运动，中学曾是学校篮球队队长。在患病情况下，也一直坚持看美国职业篮球联赛和足球比赛。路白的古典音乐造诣很高。播放任何一段音乐，都能讲出作者和乐曲名，令他人佩服不已。 中学时参加过合唱队，由其父担任指挥，其妹负责钢琴伴奏，他擅长男低音声部。另外他非常喜爱烹饪。经常能做出一桌美味佳肴给家人和朋友分享。他为人大度善良，在困难时期下，也经常请弟妹和朋友们吃饭。路白与结缡妻子翁梨驹相识于上海，翁梨驹于上海第一医学院毕业后分配到天津医学院附属医院工作，路白由于经常有机会出差天津，所以两人相识相爱，于1959年1月29日结婚。大女儿张红于1963年出生，儿子张磊于1968年出生。他对子女要求虽高，但不失为一个好爸爸。生病九年以来，他一直与病痛斗争，半身瘫痪后一直依靠轮椅生活。最近因心衰住院终告不治，于2018年10月19日凌晨3：58点去世。
