Lu Ping Wang's Obituary
Our beloved Lu Ping Wang passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026 in San Jose, CA, at the age of 102. A woman of great strength and talent, she lived a life defined by her dedication to her family, her career, and the arts.
After moving from China to Taiwan in 1949, she built a distinguished career. She retired in 1990 after 28 years at the National Museum of History library. She was known by colleagues as a pleasant, responsible, and hardworking pillar of every organization she touched.
Lu Ping was a true artist. Whether she was practicing Chinese calligraphy, performing on the harmonica, or sewing and knitting beautiful clothing for her young children, she brought beauty into the world. Her cooking was legendary—those who sat at her table will never forget the care and skill she put into every dish. After moving to the U.S. in 1995, she and her husband, Hsieh Wu Wang, remained active community members and were seen by many as a model of a devoted, loving couple.
She is survived by her loving family: two daughters, two sons, two daughters-in-law, five grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. She will be deeply missed.
The memorial service will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park in Half Moon Bay on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
