Dear Jauw, children and grandchildren,
My deepest condolences at the loss of your dear wife, mother and grandmother, and friend. I will never forget that the first "ago-go" watch I ever owned came from Dada. Together with a brown eye shadow, the watch came as a "pasalubong" when she came to visit Manila in the mid-70's. We developed our friendship when we became seat mates in our senior year in high school. We silently bullied our economics teacher, and we had many good laughs doing so. When she won a Pax award in St. Scholastica's 100th year, she gave me a set of Cross ballpen and pencil, only because I had written up her civic involvements that earned her the award. I still have the set, so I will always have something to remember Dada by.
I will miss Dada and the easy person that she was. She got along with everyone, showed no preferences for roommates during our jubilee out-of-town trips, and never missed any of our planned activities. But, surely against her wishes, she missed our recent golden jubilee due to her health issues. I had always prayed for her recovery since she first fell ill, and thank God she enjoyed a few short years after that. Dada will be sorely missed. May God comfort you and us all as we grieve her loss.
