Losaline Evaleti Naeata's Obituary
Losaline Evaleti Naeata
On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Losaline Evaleti Naeata, loving daughter, niece, sister, aunt and mother passed away at the age of 38.
Losaline was born on October 29, 1985, in Palo Alto, California’s Stanford Hospital to Sitiveni and the late Kelela (Tavake) Naeata. Losaline spent majority of her life in San Mateo, California. She went from elementary school at Sunnybrae, to middle school at Borel, and finally graduated from Aragon High School. (Go Dons!) She never married but was always surrounded by love.
After high school, Losaline would spend her life in various jobs, but would ultimately end up doing whatever she needed to serve her family. Most of her life was spent in service to others. Following in her late mother’s footsteps, she was the go-to person for anything that needed to be done in her immediate and extended family. She led the charge in many family events and even though she was in pain, she would show up in any way possible.
Losaline was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout her life, she held various callings where she served the primary and youth children of the Peninsula 2nd Ward in San Mateo, California.
Aside from serving her family and the members of her church, she was a master of technical support. She was never traditionally trained, but she figured out how to troubleshoot and resolve most technical issues that would face elderly people today.
On July 10, 2002, her only son, Samuela Yavus Bolak, was born to his biological mom, Isapela Manukainiu. Isapela graciously gave her son to Losaline, who loved and adored him as her own. In her short life, she raised him to love God and family. As Sam grew and got involved in sports, Losaline was always the team mom. She cheered and supported from the stands and always went over the top on her designated snack days. Most importantly, Losaline loved and supported Sam as he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Not only did she raise Sam, but she also helped to raise many of her siblings’ children as well. She was and will forever be known as everyone’s favorite “Other Mom” or Aunty. Losaline was the safe haven for many of her extended children. When they needed a break from home, she was the one they would run to. If the parents said no to their children, a simple phone call from Losaline would get the ball rolling in the right direction, no matter what state they lived in.
Losaline’s love transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She brought a bounty of beauty to everything she did with her smile, her ability to take on anything, and unconditional love. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people, from children to older adults and evoke the same spirit of love in each person she knew.
Losaline was preceded in death by her mother, Kelela Naeata, her grandparents, Titali and Laumanu Tavake and Samuela and Mina Naeata, her cousin Samuei Tavake and her nephew Netane Leaaevai Fa. She is survived by her son Samuela Yavus Bolak, her father Sitiveni Naeata, her sister Malisa Naeata and many Aunties, Uncles, extended brothers, sisters and children who remain heartbroken over her passing.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 11:00AM at the Peninsula 2nd Ward – 3601 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo, CA 94403. Losaline will be laid to rest next to her mother at Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 @ Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA 94402.
