LORRAINE KAY PLEASANTS was born December 27, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to John Lee and Ella Mae Gordon. She was the eldest of three daughters having two sisters Patricia and Janet.In 1955 Lorraine was baptized at Greater New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.She graduated from High School of Commerce in 1956.In 1957 Lorraine married Franklin Roosevelt Troutman. They left Detroit and headed to San Francisco, California. In 1960 their daughter Pamela was born.Lorraine began working for the United States Postal Service in 1961. Her career began as a mail clerk and ended as a regional manager. She retired after 33 years receiving several awards for her dedicated work. While working there, she met and married Preston Pleasants, Sr. in 1975.Lorraine enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and cooking.Her parents, John and Ella Gordon; sister, Patricia Perry; and husband, Preston Pleasants, Sr., preceded her in death.She leaves a daughter, Pamela Roberts (Richard); her sister, Janet Muhammad (Charles); step-sister, Betty Miller; sister-in-law, Ann White; half -sisters, Ruby Lackey (Ronald), Bettina Gordon; nephews and nieces, Sheila Davis (Marcus), Darryl Taylor, Alicia White, Robin White, Amir Muhammad, Sultan Muhammad, and a host of other relatives and friends.
