Loraine Beard's Obituary
In loving memory of Loraine Beard
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Loraine Beard, who left us just shy of her 97th birthday. She was a wife of 70 years, mother of four, grandmother of six, great-grandmother of two and friend to many. Loraine radiated love and warmth and her life was a testament to the positive impact of a caring heart.
Born in Barre, Vermont, Loraine's journey began on a farm. At 16, she demonstrated her independence, leaving home to finish high school and pursue a career in nursing. She became a Cadet Nurse during World War 2 and a lifelong Registered Nurse, where she cared for both the physical well-being of her patients and touched their hearts.
Loraine raised four children, David, Melanie (Jenkins), Lisa (Beard), and Jenny (Cistola) with Derek. They endured the tragic loss of David when he was just twenty-five years old. She shared close bonds with her daughters nurturing their spirits with her warmth and wisdom. Loraine’s Catholic faith provided her with the strength to face life's challenges.
Loraine’s zest for life and sense of humor brightened the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have known her. She loved to travel, but the ocean held an extra special place in her heart. Her appreciation of simple pleasures extended to cultivating vegetable, and herb gardens, cooking scrumptious meals, and employing her talent for expert sewing.
Loraine's passing leaves a void in our lives, but we take solace in the years we had with her. Her legacy of love, adventure, resilience, and faith will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. The lessons she taught us through how she made each of us feel will always be a source of comfort.
Rest in peace, Loraine. Your memory will forever brighten our lives, and your love will live on in the hearts of all of those who were blessed to have known you.
