Liu Lee, "Ping" Pyn's Obituary
Liu, Lee Ping was born August the 2nd,1918 and died on July the 10th, 2015 at 8:45am, she was 96 years old. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Fang, Huei and Lan and their husbands of Fred, Frank and Doug, nine grand children and five great grand children.Lee Ping was born in Nanking, China. She went to Taiwan in 1949 with her husband and children when the communists took over mainland China, while her husband J.S. Liu was with Nationalist forces. She immigrated to the United States in 1997 after her husband’s death and became a US citizen in 2005. She lived with her youngest daughter Lan in Palo Alto from 1998. In June 2011, Lee Ping suffered a stroke that left her immobile. She was admitted to Lytton Gardens assisted living, and she stayed there until her recent passing. She suffered from mild Dementia toward the end of her life.Lee Ping was witty, smart and resilient. She was good with numbers, she used to remember people’s phone numbers and even in the last few weeks of her life, she knew her multiplication tables. Her children joked with her that they would keep their eyes open for a job at a nearby bank.Lee Ping loved her life and fought hard to stay alive in the last few weeks. She will be dearly missed by all of her children, their spouses, grand and great grand children.
