Lisa was my neighbor here at The Villages and I feel we met about a year ago - not long ago but I noticed her right away. She would walk along the path by our court and she was very tall, thin and fragile; I could tell. She wore a mask and a large sun hat but I felt connected to her, even though I could never see her face and make eye contact, I still felt like I could. She was quiet and soft but I could tell she wanted to visit with me and get to know my dog Posey and I. Within a short while, we would always stop and talk. She seemed to like my dog and also wanted to know how she (my dog) was doing. There is frailty here at The Villages, from age or illness and so there is a lot of compassion as we all share our situation and desire to help in some way. My dog is old and struggling and Lisa, in her frail state, seemed to understand her struggle as I felt like I understood Lisa's struggle. We connected. I will miss her kindness and will always remember her as the woman that walked to extend her life even though it took a lot out of her, she always would walk. Bless you and may you find comfort in your resting place. I could tell that you lived a life surrounded by love.
