Lillian D'Acquisto's Obituary
Born, Liliana Andreoli on January 18, 1932, Lillian D’Acquisto passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 93 in San Carlos, CA.
Born in Marotta Italy, Lillian was 12 years old when she and her family moved inland to Florence seeking safety from World War II. In Florence, Piazza Signoria was her playground and the Pointe Vecchio her walking path.
Lillian learned how to sew from her mother and aunt and worked alongside them to make and alter clothes for the more fortunate and elite of Florence. During her teens, she unfortunately contracted tuberculosis and was quarantined for six months in a small village two hours outside of Florence. Thankfully she was one of the lucky ones to recover and return home to her family in Florence at the age of 16.
At the age of 20, Lillian immigrated to the United States with the sponsorship of her extended family in San Francisco. She quickly focused on learning English and got a job as a waitress at Fugazi Hall, now known as Club Fugazi. It was there that she met her husband, Nick D’Acquisto. They quickly fell in love and married when she was 21 years old.
Lillian loved being a wife and stay at home mother. Lillian and Nick had two daughters, Ann and Christine. Residing in the Excelsior District of San Francisco, they raised their girls and spent time with family and friends at their home on Cayuga Ave.
Lillian enjoyed sewing and crocheting, often creating Christmas ornaments and stockings for her grandchildren. She loved flowers and plants, playing games, reading the newspaper and cooking for her family.
Lillian leaves behind her daughter, Christine Schulz of Redwood City, granddaughter Nicole Castelli (husband Nick Castelli) of Redwood City, grandson Michael Schulz (wife Dustin Smith-Schulz), of Sarasota Florida, son-in-law Bill Berg, grandson Christopher Berg (wife Keely Berg), grandson Kevin Berg (life partner Kayleigh Gates) all from San Jose, CA, and six great grandchildren, Annabelle, Andrew, Addison, Weston, Jack and Miles.
Lillian is predeceased in death by her husband Nicholas D’Acquisto, daughter Ann Berg, son-in-law Roger Schulz, sister Maria Bonovolonta, brother-in-law Guiseppe Bonovolonta, brother Neno Andreoli, father Egidio Andreoli, Mother Emma Andreoli and many other beloved family members where she is now reunited with in heaven.
Lillian lived a simple life and taught her family that the simplest things are sometimes, the most treasured.
