Tan, Lilia's Obituary
Lilia G. Tan, 91 years old, of Sunnyvale, CA, passed away on August 20, 2024 of old age.
Lilia G. Tan was born on January 25, 1933 in Iloilo, Philippines to Calixto Giner and Victoria Palmares.
Lilia was creative and resourceful. She graduated from Slims Fashion School in Manila, Philippines, then proceeded to start her own custom-made dress shop she proudly named "White Jade". She moved to the United States and worked for Advanced Micro Devices as a wafer FAB technician, then, switched careers as a personal care provider when she did not take a relocation package to Austin, Texas. She left the personal care giving career to take care of her husband, Genaro Tan until he passed away in 1996. Recovering from grief from the loss of her husband, she immersed herself in floral design at April Flowers. She can whip up sumptuous and nutritious banquet for her family and friends. She is a world traveler and enjoyed learning cultures and cuisines from the many places she visited.
Lilia was a devoted wife to Genaro Tan, and loving mother to Theresa Mathews, Ramon & Rodrigo Tan and to her stepchildren, Romeo, Roberto, Cynthia, Raymundo & Rodolfo Tan, a devoted Great Grandmother to Gavin & Gus McCoy, Daniel & Markus Stieglmeier, Bianca & Martin Gudmundsen and Thad Devera.
Lilia will be missed by her close family, Theresa & Gary Mathews, Ramon & Susan Tan, April, Brian, Gavin & Gus McCoy, Philip, Nuttaya & Thad Devera, Laura, Matthias, Daniel & Markus Stieglmeier, and Angelica, Gunnar, Bianca & Martin Gudmundsen.
A funeral service will be held on August 27, 2024 at 11:00am at Skylawn Funeral Home, Skyline Blvd Hwy 92, San Mateo, CA 94402 with Father Maurice Igboerika officiating. Burial will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park at 2:00pm.
