悼念何爷爷
何爷爷，原名何烈泰，于1930年农历十二月三十日出生在重庆遂宁。他19岁时，随国民党离开家乡重庆，辗转至台湾。40岁时，他怀揣着对美好生活的期盼，远赴美国，从此在异国他乡扎根。
他曾投身于红木家具行业，倾注心血，虽因资金亏损不得不结束生意，但他并未因此气馁。之后，他在远洋航船上担任housekeeper，漂泊于海上，又在汽车加油站做收银员，以微薄收入维持生计。尽管生活并不富裕，何爷爷始终以勤恳踏实的态度面对人生，默默耕耘，坚韧而从容。
他待人真诚，心胸宽广，从不计较得失。在我们与他长期的相处中，他给予了我们许多关怀与帮助，如同亲人般真诚相待。虽然我们相识于老人公寓，但他早已成为我们心中不可或缺的家人。他的离世，让我们深感悲痛与不舍。
何爷爷于2025年3月21日安详地在Hayward的康复中心离世。他的一生虽平凡，却温暖而厚重。他的质朴、善良与坚韧，将永远留存在我们心中。

In Memory of Grandpa Ho
Grandpa Ho, originally named Ho, Liea Tai, was born on the 30th day of the 12th month in the lunar calendar in 1930 in Suining, Chongqing. At the age of 19, he left his hometown of Chongqing with the Kuomintang and made his way to Taiwan. At 40, carrying hopes for a better life, he traveled to the United States, where he eventually put down roots in a foreign land.
He once immersed himself in the hardwood furniture industry, dedicating his heart and soul to it. Although he had to end his business due to financial losses, he did not let this setback discourage him. Later, he worked as a housekeeper on a merchant ship, drifting at sea, and then as a cashier at a gas station, maintaining a modest income to support his life. Despite not living in wealth, Grandpa Ho always faced life with a diligent and down-to-earth attitude, working quietly and persistently with grace and resilience.
He treated others with sincerity and had a broad heart, never caring about gains or losses. He offered us much care and assistance, treating us as his own family. Although we met at a senior living community, he had already become an indispensable family member in our hearts. His passing has filled us with deep sorrow and unwilling to let go of him.
Grandpa Ho passed away peacefully at the rehabilitation center in Hayward on March 21, 2025. His life, though ordinary, was warm and profound. His simplicity, kindness, and resilience will forever remain in our hearts.
May Grandpa Ho rest in peace, and may his spirit watch over us with blessings of safety, health, happiness, and joy.
