Liberty "Baby" Esquivel Evangelista's Obituary
Liberty 'Baby' Esquivel Evangelista started her new life on May 22, 2012 at the age of 48. She went with the Lord at Eden Medical Center, Castro Valley, California due to a brain aneurysm. Liberty Evangelista, also known as 'Baby' to her close family, was born on April 5, 1964 at Vermont Maternity Hospital in Manila, Philippines. She was raised by her father Lorenzo Evangelista and mother Milagros Evangelista. She was the third eldest of her three siblings, Cynthia Yabut, Quintina Evangelista, and Daniel Evangelista. She completed one year of college at Santa Catalina College studying basic computer science. On March 4, 1996, Liberty moved to the Union City, California with her elder sister Quintina and younger brother Daniel. She lived with her parents and two siblings. Although she initially did not enjoy the first few months in America, overtime she adjusted comfortably. In 1997, Liberty worked for Jack in the Box as a crew worker. She worked for the company for 15 years earning a promotion as a shift leader. Liberty was humble about her shift leader position, as it was not known to her family only during the time of her passing. Many who don't know Liberty would pass her as a shy and snobbish person. However if a person truly gets knows her, he/she would find that she has a gentle and kind personality. If others treat her wrong she was quick to forgive and would return her mistreatment with a smile. She was very generous and giving to her family as money or resources did not hinder her relationship with them. Simplicity and practicality was the philosophy of Liberty. She did not invest into material possessions such as clothes and luxurious jewelry. Rather, the simple things in life made her happy such as window shopping, going to the beach, house cleaning, internet surfing, and staying at home. Overall, her life reflected the Christ like spirit of gentleness, humility, thankfulness, forgiveness, patience, perseverance, and love. Liberty is survived by her parents, Lorenzo and Milagros Evangelista; siblings and their spouse, Cynthia and Xavier Yabut, Quintina Evangelista, and Daniel Evangelista; nephews, Xavier II, Conway, and Allen Yabut.
