Li Bang Chen's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Li Bang Chen
We’re heartbroken to share that Li Bang Chen, our loving husband, dad, and grandpa, passed away peacefully in August, 2025. He was a quiet, and incredibly kind man who meant the world to us.
Though a man of few words, he didn’t need many words to show how much he cared. His actions said it all. He was the heart of our family, and his passing has left a profound emptiness. We will forever treasure the moments we shared, from the quiet times sitting side by side to the heartfelt conversations he shared about his hopes for his family. He showed his care through simple gestures: calling to check on us, reminding us to drive safely, or surprising us with our favorite snacks, each one warming our hearts.
He was a true tinkerer at heart, finding joy in taking things apart to understand how they worked, and patiently putting them back together with care. His hands were always busy, and his curiosity was contagious. As a skilled mechanic, he was always ready to fix our cars.
His true passion was art, and Dad poured his heart into every drawing and painting. His sketches brought the world to life—full of color, detail, and feeling. Whether it was a peaceful landscape or a portrait of someone he loved, his work was something special. He created beautiful drawings and paintings that we will forever cherish. His talent was a quiet gift he shared with us, and we are so proud of the beautiful works of art that he created. Watching him work was a joy, and we were always captivated by the concentration and passion he poured into every piece. We often encouraged him to keep drawing, knowing the joy it brought him.
We are endlessly grateful for all he did for us and will strive to live in a way that honors his enduring legacy. He was so proud of his son and daughter, cheering them on through every step and always there with a listening heart. Though our time with him has ended, his spirit stays with us, and knowing he’s at peace with God gives us comfort. His kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength will keep guiding us.
He is survived by his beloved wife; his son and daughter; and his two grandchildren.
We’ll celebrate and honor his life with a funeral service at 9:45 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Skylawn Funeral Home, 888 Lifemark Rd, Half Moon Bay, CA, followed by a burial at the same location. A luncheon reception will follow, with the location to be announced at the service.
We love you and miss you always, Dad. Rest in peace in God’s loving embrace.
