Schuyler, Leose Brown's Obituary
Leose Brown Schuyler, a longtime resident of San Carlos, California and recently at the Abigail, Complete Senior Care, Redwood City, California died Sunday, December 15, 2024. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Owen Schuyler, and her brothers Frank Jr., Elwin, and Grant. She is survived by her three children, Susan Marquis (Jack), Barbara Hebda (David Brown), John Schuyler (Priscila Franco) and her four grandchildren, Elyce, Tom, Stephen and Mark and seven great grandchildren.
Leose was born to Frank and Leose Brown on June 15, 1925 at Mrs. Bunn’s Maternity Home in Glendora, California. Her father owned and managed a small citrus ranch in Glendora. Her mother was a homemaker and involved in many women’s groups in Glendora.
After high school, Leose headed to UC Berkeley and majored in general curriculum. She was a member of the sorority Gamma Phi Beta. During her senior year, she met, on a blind date, her husband to be, Jim. They married on September 10, 1948. Three children followed in 1950, 1952 and 1955.
Leose was an avid golfer and tennis player. She liked to putter in her garden and bake amazing olallieberry pies from their homegrown berries. Following in the footsteps of her mother she was a dedicated Girl Scout leader. With her husband Jim, they enjoyed camping, genealogy, and traveling. Leose will be greatly missed by her family.
We would like to thank Vivian Fragiacomo and the entire staff of the Abigail for their outstanding care of Leose.
