Leonor Ledda's Obituary
In loving memory of Leonor “Loly” Ledda of San Francisco who passed away at her home at the age of 81 on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was born on July 23, 1933 in Masbate, Philippines.Leonor was best known for many things but fondly, for certain things. One was for her green thumb. She can take a stem or a leaf and nurture it to a beautiful plant. Her home was never without greenery. She was also a seamstress. She had many projects which consisted from a pillow case to a prom dress. In the kitchen, she had two specialty Filipino desserts that she enjoyed making for her family and friends and that was her “suman” (made with sweet rice, coconut milk, and brown sugar) and bilo-bilo (sticky rice balls cooked in coconut milk, tapioca pearls, bananas, yams, taro, and jackfruit).She was an active and a pioneer member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo church in San Francisco. She attended worship services on Sundays and Thursdays.Leonor is survived by her sons Lawrence, Fermin Jr., Wayne and daughters Emily L. Villanueva and Cindy, son-in-law Emmanuel Villanueva, daughter-in-law Maritess Hernandez Ledda, grandchildren Morgan and wife Gretchen, Julian, Robert, Trevor, Elliott, Joshua, Kiana, Jonathan and Bethany, great grand-child Nadia and eldest brother Tomas Merdegia.She was preceded in passing by her husband Fermin L. Ledda Sr. (1994) and grand-daughter Hailey (2003) and her parents Agapito and Eulogia Merdegia, siblings Ricardo, Agapito Jr., Ramon, and Estrella.Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 28th and funeral will be on Sunday, March 29th. Both will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
