Lauri Ann Hansen's Obituary
It is with great sadness that Lauri Ann Hansen left this Earth too soon at the age of 63 on February 17, 2026. She was only 63. Lauri leaves behind her husband Jeff of 45 years, her daughter Jamie, her son in law Gordon and her only grandson Colton- her buddy! She is survived by her mother, Karen, and her two siblings Greg and Debbie (brother-in-law Greg). Lauri also was a beloved Aunt and Great Aunt.
Lauri was born in Redwood City on March 25, 1962, to Karen and Jerry Mertens. She grew up brave and strong facing life’s challenges with determination. Lauri devoted her life to caring for her family. Lauri loved the Grand Tetons, sunflowers and hummingbirds, and was a lifelong 49er fan. She loved her dogs Blue, Cody, Riley and Daisy and travelling in her RV with Jeff to the Redwood Forest and up the coast of California.
She and Jeff found a special refuge in the town of Oroville and enjoyed playing Scrabble and doing Crossword puzzles. They often found themselves saying the same words at the same time! Lauri offered constant support to her daughter Jamie and always believed in her giving her the confidence to achieve and the space to become her own person. She was her true best friend. Lauri also enjoyed spending time with her grandson Colton by attending his many sports games and picking him up from school.
Lauri was our “guiding light” and will be missed every single day. May she rest in eternal peace with her father Jerry in Heaven.
