Laurata Manuel Asuncion, born on August 2, 1940, in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines, to parents Juan Manuel and Tomasa Agbayani, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024, after a joyous celebration of her birthday with loved ones.
Known affectionately as Loring, Laura, and Lala, Laurata moved to the United States in 1964 after marrying her beloved husband, Tomas Asuncion. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Shirley and Thomas Asuncion. Laurata was a dedicated and hardworking individual, devoting over 40 years of service to Kaiser Hospital, where she was recognized for her exceptional contributions.
In 2001, Laurata became a proud grandmother to Maycee and Owen Mosley, a role she cherished deeply. Her warmth and generosity made her a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend—a true beacon of love and kindness to everyone who knew her.
Laurata had a passion for all things pink, crochet, music, and food. She took immense joy in spending time with friends and family, whether in person or over the phone, and was always caring for others with love.
Her life will be celebrated on August 25, 2024, from 3-7 pm at Skylawn Memorial Park. On August 26, 2024, a service will be held at Saint Thomas Church, followed by a final tribute and reception at Skylawn Memorial Park.
Laurata’s legacy of love, compassion, and joy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
