Lana Wu Chen's Obituary
Loving. That was the word that perfectly described Lana Chen. She suffered greatly after her 2008 multiple myeloma diagnosis, and spent the last year of her life as a paraplegic. Yet, she always had a smile for family and friends. On November 9th, 2015, she lost her battle to cancer and was able to finally rest.Lana was born in Xi’An, China, and was mainly raised by her grandmother. She came to America when she was 26, and spent the rest of her life in California. Lana was a wonderful spouse to Han Chen, and a kind and great mother to her two daughters, Holly and Cindy. To all who knew her, she was a selfless and sweet woman. She always worried about others, and cared how others felt. It will be sad letting her go, but Lana was a woman of incredible faith. She now rests with the Lord.“I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.”In lieu of flowers, Lana’s family would appreciate it, if donations were made to the multiple myeloma research program at UCSF:http://cancer.ucsf.edu/research/multiple-myeloma/donor-support-for-researchor to the multiple myeloma research foundation:http://www.themmrf.org/
