Lai Lai Yu's Obituary
Lai Lai Yu was born February 24, 1956, in Rangoon, Burma, to her parents Shee Fen and Rosie Yu.Lai Lai was the eldest child of six siblings. The family moved to the United States in the early 70’s. They settled in the North Beach area in San Francisco. At a young age, Lai Lai took care of her five younger siblings. She also took babysitting/elder care work to help support her family. During the late 70’s Lai Lai met Frank Davis, Sr. and through their relationship, they welcomed the most precious person in her life, son Frank James Davis, Jr. She worked very hard to raise him as a single mom.Lai Lai was employed as a transit car operator for the San Francisco Muni System and enjoyed her work immensely. She spent more than 50 years in San Francisco and chose to bring up her son, Frank, in the City, because she loved the diversity, food, sites, and people that the City offered.Lai Lai was a devoted mother and daughter. In the last 10 years, she was also the care giver to her mom, Rosie. Lai Lai had a special bond with everyone that was near and dear to her.
