Kwan Sin Lim's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kwan Sin Lim on May 02, 2024.
Kwan Sin Lim, beloved mother, grandmother and sibling passed away in her home accompanied by her family at the age of 86. Born in Toishan, China in 1938. In 1951, she moved to Guangzhou and then Hong Kong where she received her schooling. She married Kowk Ching Lim in 1961 and gave birth to her first child, Eddie Lim in 1962. Years later she and her son travelled to America where she was reunited with her husband who had been working in Tracy, California. There she gave birth to two boys, Jimmy Lim in 1972 and Tommy Lim in 1974.
Kwan Sin was employed by the H.J. Heinz Company from 1983 until her retirement in 1998. She helped mother many of the children around her while raising her children, always making sure they go fe her delicious cooking. She cherished time with family and friends, eating and traveling to exquisite places from China to Italy, Amsterdam, Iceland, Scotland, Norway and Alaska. She also visited many national parks, tea houses, and casinos all over the US and Canada. After 4 years of facilityation the healthcare for her husband, he passed on Nov. 20 2005.
Eddie and Jenny Lim gave birth to granddaughter Vivian Lim in 2008 and Kwan Sin moved to Sacramento to be closer to family and make new friends. Kwan Sin moved back to Tracy in 2018 where she loved shopping at Costco and our neighboring Asian Markets, eating lunch with her friends, Margaret, Stella, Mary, Francis and Lilly and playing Mahjong with them. She spent the week beofre her passing with close family and friends who gathered around and celebrated her while she was in hospice. She will be missed.
Kwan leaves behind her two sons, Jimmy Lim and Tommy Lim; daughter-in-law, Jenny Lim; granddaughter, Vivian Lim; older brother, Ngar Ching Lee (Eddie); younger brother, Ar Wai Lee (Norman); youngest sister, Bick Mee Lee (Betty).
Kwan is preceded in death by her husband, Kwok Ching Lim (John); oldest son, Eddie Lim; parents, Yok Sing Lee and Fung Chou Wong; younger sister, Deborah Wong; oldest brother, Ngar Hong Lee; younger brother, Ngar Wai Lee(Raymond).
There will be funeral service on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, located on Highway 92, San Mateo, CA. 94402.
There will be a celebration of life at her home in Tracy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skylawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Hwy 92 at Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402.
