Kok Poy Chin's Obituary
Kok Poy Chin, a long-time resident of San Francisco, California passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the age of 89. Born on September 10, 1922 to Kung Hong Chin and Fuan How Ang in Canton, China, he was one of six children. Kok Poy Chin is survived by his two daughters; Kathleen (Guy) Lee and Pansy (Brad) Yee; fourteen grandchildren; John, Jennifer (Mark) Pilwallis, Stacey, Deanna, Tracy (Ray) Huang, Stephanie, Tiffany, Justin, Christopher, Ian, Jeremy, Samantha, Madeline, and Katherine. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; Mason and Alex; three siblings, Kok Wing Chin, Kok Man Chin, Kok Ten Chin and two daughter-in-laws, Nelly and Khin. Kok Poy Chin was predeceased by his wife Oi Hay Hway on June 8, 2002, two children, Yoke Sein and Jeff Yoke Loon; and two siblings, Kok Wor Chin and Tone Jin Chin. He was also predeceased by his favorite pet, Jet. Services were held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 am at Skylawn Memorial Park. A visitation was held the previous evening beginning at 4:00 pm. The Funeral and Committal Services were officiated by Pastor Steve Wong. Acting pallbearers were family members Brad, Ray, Justin, Christopher, Ian and Jeremy. Following the committal service, a celebration of life reception was held at Skylawn Funeral Home in the Vista Room.
