Kelly W. Chan's Obituary
Kelly W. Chan was born on December 26, 1935 in Bo Yuen Fong village, Hoi Ping, Guangdong China. He passed away very peacefully with his loving family by his side on January 17, 2015, at the proud age of 77.Kelly was a very young boy when his father immigrated by himself to the United States. His mother stayed back and cared for him in China, while his father set roots in America. After World War II, his father was able to obtain immigration papers for them to come to the United States, eventually residing in San Francisco. His father and mother loved Kelly very much. This was the foundation that made Kelly what he was today.Kelly was never afraid of hard work. He worked various jobs in search of the American dream. Kelly’s professions included long shoreman, barber, restaurant owner, chef, taxi driver, and shuttle driver.Kelly loved to travel the world to meet new people. He was such a caring giving person. People he met became friends for life. He was proud of his children, their accomplishments and what they represented. He loved to walk his young children around Chinatown in San Francisco. Many friends whom he ran into always stopped to say hello and would give red envelopes to his children. The children thought he was a celebrity because he was extremely handsome and knew so many people. In life we run into people who become our life partner, Kelly came across this very special Life Partner, Rosie…they were inseparable, total “Yuen Fen”.Kelly was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, life partner, and friend…..you will forever be missed in our hearts.Kelly is proudly survived by: ~Daughters Lisa and her husband Dewey and Lori ~Sons Kenny and Ronnie ~Brother Stan and his wife Eleanor ~Grandchildren Matthew, Ashley, Michelle, Jonathan and his wife Elena and Stephanie ~Nephew Derrick ~Nieces Alecia and Katrina ~Life Partner Rosie …..and many loving family and friends
