Kang Ning Jiang's Obituary
Our dearest Kang Ning Jiang, age 87, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Kang Ning was born in Hong Kong on July 5, 1935. He married Cui Qiong Liang at the age of 22 and they had six children together, two sons and four daughters. He worked as an accountant in China prior to immigrating his family to America in 1984. He settled his family in San Francisco, CA, and worked as a kitchen helper until he retired to take an active role in the lives of his grandchildren.
公公/ 爷爷 was beloved by his 14 grandchildren. He was an exceptional grandfather. He took his grandchildren to and from school, kept them company until the school bell rang, made them delicious meals, and was present for all events. His grandchildren always brought a smile to his face. He was there for every milestone.
His family was his pride and joy. His proudest achievements were witnessing his children and grandchildren graduate from school, start their careers, get married, and start a family of their own.
He enjoyed going on walks, sunbathing, gardening, playing the lottery, reading the newspaper, watching the news, sharing his version of history and talking politics, listening to Chinese opera, and getting pampered with massages. Most of all, he loved to eat, go “yum cha”, drink tea, and spend quality time with family in the comfort of his home.
Kang Ning will be remembered for being a pillar in his family, his sharp mind and sense of humor, his playful prank calls, and his stories about the olden days. His life lessons and memories will live on through his family. He was incredibly loved and will be dearly missed. His legacy will continue to be honored by all of us.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He held all of these titles proudly and showed us through his actions.
Kang Ning is survived by his wife (Cui Qiong Liang), siblings (Fong Chiang, Yuk Chee; Chiang, Hong Kin; and Chiang, Yuk Hing), children, (Wen Jiu Jiang, Wen Chao Jiang, Amy Jiang, Anna Jiang, Wendy Jiang, and Janey Jiang), grandchildren (Benjamin Jiang, Vincent Jiang, Lawrence Jiang, Tiffany Jiang, Christina Yee, Ivy Truong, Linda Truong, Judy Yee, Terrence Jiang, Serena Truong, Stephanie Hu, Emily Doan, Mellanie Hu, and Ryan Hu), and great grandchild (Rosalie Szeto).
A funeral service will be held on December 20, 2022, 11:00 AM at Skylawn Memorial Home, San Mateo, California.
