Mike Duckworth
I am Judy?s brother, Mike. I wish to express my condolences especially to Jeff and Josh, but also to Amber, Andrea, Susan, Arielle, Angela, Joe, and all of Judy?s many friends who were present at her funeral. I am grateful to everyone who attended, especially my wife Kathe who accompanied me from Michigan, and my niece Angela Swain and my nephew Joe Timilione, who both flew up from southern CA to attend. Also, a special note of thanks for the beautiful song sung by Judy?s niece Arielle. Several attendees spoke about Judy, and through that process I came to understand how much she was loved by her family and many close friends, and how much she will be missed. It was also nice to hear stories of her selflessness and willingness to help others. If success in life is measured by the love of friends and family, then Judy?s life was a great success. Judy and I lived far apart and did not have the chance spend much time together as adults, but when we did get together her sense of humor always shone. I will especially remember her unique laugh. I always hoped that we would, at some point, get to spend more time together and know each other better, and it is regretful that that will never happen. I think about Judy every day and I miss her very much. It is comforting to know that Judy had a devoted husband and son, who did everything possible to take care of her over the years and comfort her at the end. Jeff and Josh, I very much appreciate your selfless efforts on Judy?s behalf, and I am also grateful to friends and family members who assisted in that process. Sincerely, Mike Duckworth
