Juana Machuca De Aranda's Obituary
Juana Machuca de Aranda was born on March 28, 1934 in a small town of Tanhuato, Michoacán, Mexico. She was well known to many as Juanita and to her grandchildren, Alexandra Guadalupe Aranda & Carlos Aranda, she was always “Grandma”. Juana died at the age of 83 at Stanford, California due to complications of heart surgery. She passed away on December 10, 2017. Her parents were Guadalupe Valladoid and Rafael Machuca. Juana had 4 sisters named Ester, Sara, Lupe, and Irlinda. Only her sister, Lupe, still now lives. As a child, she loved going to her hometown plaza and attending hometown church in Tanhuato. She particularly loved attending mass on December 12, the Day of The Virgin Guadalupe. Juana did attend school in Tanhuato and finished middle school. Later, Juana met her husband Adan Aranda in Tanhuato . They married on July 1968 in Mexico City. Adan decided to bring Juana to the United State to have a better life. Juana immigrated to the US on August 1969. A year later, they had their son, Carlos Aranda. She worked at S&W (now Costco) in Redwood City for 10 years, but later decided to quit to dedicate her time to her only son, Carlos. Although Juana was not okay with her only son, Carlos, joining the Navy at age 18, she decided to support him in his decision. She was so proud of him for serving his country for 10 years in the Navy and later obtaining his career in Aviation as an Aircraft Mechanic.Juana can be described as a very generous person, a social person, a loving mother, and an amazing grandma. She had many friends both here in the US and in Mexico. She loved spending time with her granddaughter and grandson. Together they loved joking around with grandpa, Juana’s husband, Adan. Other enjoyments she liked were going to Reno, doing her make-up, shopping, going to church, watching Caso Cerro on Univision, fishing with her grandson Carlos, sitting on the couch with family pet, Vinnie, and having her granddaughter Alexandra do her nails. She is survived by her husband Adan, her son Carlos, her grandchildren, Alexandra & Carlos Jr, her daughter in law Angelica, one sister, Guadalupe, and many cousins, many nephews, and nieces in Mexico.
