Juan Bituen's Obituary
Juan Rubio Bituen was born on February 7, 1929 in Batac, Ilocos Norte Philippines. He died on November 27, 2021 at the age of 92 yrs., with his loving wife right by his side in San Francisco.
Juan was a star athlete in high school and was called "Star Dust". He led his team in intramural sports in baseball, 100-meter dash, and broad jump. He graduated from Saint Williams College in Laoag City, Philippines in 1952. He attended Araneta University in Manila and majored in Agriculture and Biology in 1954. He taught at Batac Rural High School, now known as Mariano Marcus University. He taught there as a high school teacher until he immigrated to the United States in 1969.
On June 27, 1964, Juan married the love of his life, Remedios Asuncion. They were married for 57 years. He is survived by his wife, four children: Samuel, Ruth Mary, Jessamine and Joan. His oldest daughter Miriam, died on December 28, 2013. He has 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and another great grandchild on the way.
Juan loved traveling around the world, spending time with family, dancing, baking and word search
puzzles. He was a sports fan and enjoyed cheering for the Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors.
We will miss your loving presence Papa, and are forever grateful for your generosity and many sacrifices you experienced to ensure your family had more opportunities here in the USA. A memorial and funeral service will be held on December 9th at 10:00 am at the Skylawn Funeral Home in San Mateo. A reception will be held at The Buffet Place, 245 South Airport Boulevard, SSF.
