Joseph A. Martha's Obituary
Joseph Martha, 66, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2017 in San Mateo, California after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Martha of Cleveland, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Lorna Beukema; his daughters, Alexandra Zilliox (Ryan) and Mallory Martha; their mother, Lydia; and Lorna’s children, Collin and Shelby Smith.Joe earned his bachelor’s degree at John Carroll University and his MBA at Case Western Reserve University. He retired as a supply chain executive after a more than 30 year career. A highlight of his career was co-authoring the book, Value Nets; but more importantly, being a proud father was his greatest accomplishment.On weekends, Joe could be found at Atwood Lake with family and friends. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and could even be spotted at Indians Spring Training games. After over 25 years as a Cavaliers season ticket holder, he was thrilled to see them bring home a championship!In 2008, Joe reconnected with his first wife, Lorna, and moved to California after retiring in 2010. They married for the second time on September 4, 2014. Joe continued to be a loyal Cleveland sports fan by joining the Bay Area Browns Backer’s Club. In the last few years, Joe and Lorna enjoyed frequent walks on the coastal trails, dining out almost nightly, and many travel adventures.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, Ohio on Saturday May 13th at 1 PM.
