De Los Reyes, Joselito Rodenas' Obituary
Joselito Rodenas de los Reyes died peacefully in the early morning of June 29, 2026 at the age of 71.
Joselito, also known as Jojie, was born in the Philippines on April 21, 1955 to Geronimo
and Consolacion de los Reyes, both parents now deceased. He has 4 siblings, all
California residents, namely – Carmencita, Elizabeth, Geronimo and Luisito.
Joselito attended school in the Philippines, was a High School Graduate, and married
Eleonor Cruz in June 1974.
Born from religious parents, Joselito grew up praying the Angelus and rosary daily at
6:00 PM with the family, attended the Misa de Gallo at Christmastime and did the Visita
Iglesia on Good Fridays. Whenever Joselito was late or missed the Angelus for whatever
reason, his father would always ask him to kneel in front of the altar and pray by himself.
During his teen-age years, Joselito sang with the 10:00 AM Mass choir of the San Felipe
Neri Parish Church, a 15-minute walk from the family’s place of residence in
Mandaluyong City. This church choir received an award in one of the concerts which
Joselito was very proud of. His favorite choir song was “Stay With Me” from the 1963
movie “The Cardinal”. ( A copy of the lyrics is attached .)
Joselito was a tenacious person in that he persevered in sending his oldest son, Jeffrey, to
a private school in the Philippines for a few years but his biggest accomplishment was
being able to take his whole family to the United States of America in 1994, thanks to his
mother, Consolacion.
Joselito is survived by his 3 children, Jeffrey 51, Geronimo III, and Joselito Jr. and
grandchildren.
