Jose J. Duarte's Obituary
A Gentle Legacy: Remembering Jose J. Duarte
January 15th, 1927 – March 20th, 2026
Kindness and steady strength guided Jose J. Duarte throughout his long life. Those who knew him recall his hardworking spirit paired with a humble heart. Humbleness and generosity shaped every choice he made.
Jose was born in El Salvador on January 15th, 1927. From early days he carried a sense of responsibility that never wavered. Friends and family felt his gentle compassion in small, consistent gestures.
Yard work, home projects, gambling, and cheering for the 49ers brought him simple joy. Even in these everyday moments he looked for ways to support others, offering advice, time, or a patient word. His love of sports, especially football, often became a friendly bridge between generations.
He shared life with his family Cony, Anna Gladys, Armando, Regina, and Miriam. Jose later welcomed sons-in-law Alon and Pedro, and found delight in his grandchildren Christian, Jose Antonio, Julian, and Mia. Each carries forward memories of his kind gestures and calm guidance.
Jose passed away peacefully in his San Bruno home on March 20th, 2026. In keeping with his faith, a Catholic rosary will honor his memory. Family and friends will gather with gratitude for the quiet grace he shared.
The visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 888 Lifemark Road, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019 with the Ceremony starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Crystal Springs Chapel with burial to follow. A reception will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home following the burial in the Vista room.
Those wishing to remember Jose may consider a gift to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3215 Cesar Chavez St., San Francisco, CA 94110. May his legacy of gentle compassion continue to inspire all who knew him.
