Throughout my children’s lives it has been a source of comfort knowing that John – and Karlene who left us way too soon – was there in the house across the street from us. We know how difficult life must have become for him in the past few years, though we rarely saw him. We regret allowing our busyness with our own “stuff” to have kept us from making time for a little visit to him; somehow we thought there would be time next week or later. We were mistaken, of course. . . But now, as Kevin said, John is in a better place; In God’s loving embrace, reunited with Karlene and free from the disease that eroded his vitality all those years. Our hearts and prayers go to the family; John and Francie, Wendy, Karen and your families. Know that we will always treasure your dad’s soft spoken encouragement and desire to help others. He loved being connected to the world through his computer and worked hard to stay current. It helped that all of you were so involved in his care and life. May the peace which passes all understanding be with you all as you mourn and celebrate the loss of an amazing man. hugs, Susan, Mark, Kevin and Allison Rogers
