John C. Obenhuber's Obituary
John (Jack) passed away at home on April 30 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. His cherished parents were Charles & Evelyn Obenhuber. He was the younger brother and life-long friend of Norma Jean (Whitman), who predeceased him. After his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force Reserves, he received his Master's degree in labor relations. For 30 years (1973-2002), he worked as the founding Director of the Bay Area Employee Relations Service (BAERS). He continued working as a management consultant for 8 years. John was the devoted husband for 42 years to his wife, Claudia. He was the very proud father to their three children, Erik (Kathy), Gina Meghinasso (David), and Stephanie, and proud Papa to grandson Dominic. A strong, kind man with a youthful spirit, he cherished the good times shared with his family and friends in Seattle, Portland, and the Bay Area. He will also be remembered for his enjoyment of and care given to his 1972 Camaro, 49er football, family trips to Lake Tahoe. He drinks a toast with a glass of scotch. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and reception on Saturday, May 7th at 2:00 pm in the Lifemark Center at Skylawn Memorial Park (Hwy. 92 & Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, CA, 94402).
