Dr. Kaster was my family Pediatrician from the time I was 5 years old. I stayed with him until I was 22. I am now 55 and I have never found a better doctor. Doctor Kaster had a compassion and love for his patients that is unmatched in these modern times. I remember him making house calls, when I or my sister were sick. He came to my baseball games when I was in little league. When I was eight years old, he gave me a stethoscope that he made from spare parts he had. He connected with the people he treated like no other that I have known. I learned of his passing when I picked up a news paper that was sitting on a table in a breakroom on my job. The top page was the obituary and there I saw a picture of the good doctor. I recognized him immediately as a flood of memories came. I felt at first sorrow at the loss of a long ago friend, and then a warmth from having known such a fine human being, and then a deep sympathy for the family he leaves behind. If the measure of a man is decided on how he has enriched the lives of those around him, then Dr. John Kaster is surely among the angels. Peace be with you, the Kaster Family, and may the Good Doctor forever rest in peace.Rick Thein and the Thein Family##imported-begin##Rick Thein##imported-end##
