John Wayne Jordon's Obituary
John Wayne “JW” Jordan was born November 4, 1941, to Margie Lee “Jordan” Sanders in Henderson, Texas. JW was the third of three children born to Margie Lee.
JW graduated from Fredrick Douglas high school in Jacksonville, Texas in 1961. Later he moved to California and graduated from Foothill College in 1968.
He accepted Christ and baptized at an early age and became a member of The Church of the Living God.
JW worked for many years as an entrepreneur and was respected in his community. He loved life and always enjoyed being around his family and close friends. In his young adulthood and up until he became ill, you would see JW riding through town in his corvette. He enjoyed BBQ cookouts with family and friends. He would cook a goat on a grill and eat it with a smile. He had tremendous compassion and generosity when it came to his great niece Kamiah Howard and his family in making sure their needs were met.
In 2021, JW began to suffer from major health issues. Within the past year of JW’s illness, he grew even closer to his eldest brother Larry “LJ” Jordan and sister Eva Bar, especially his nephew Jeffery Jordan and close friend Red.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
JW passed away peacefully at home with an entourage of family and tremendous love on September 11, 2023, at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his mother Margie Lee “Jordan” Sanders and stepfather Robert Lee Sanders, his niece Tina Rene Jordan and nephew Anthony Jordan. Although we are extremely saddened by losing him physically, our memory of this phenomenal man will always be cherished by his eldest brother Larry “LJ” Jordan (Sharon) East Palo Alto, CA and sister Eva Bar Foster City, CA. He leaves to cherish his memory, eight nephews Travis Wells, Stanley Wells (Doris), Jeffery Jordan (Denise), David Wells (Antoinette), Jerry Wells, Larry Jordan, Bryant Jordan, and Larry Jordan Jr... His four nieces Elonda Jordan, Shannon McClough (Gary Sr.), Margie Jordan and Karen Jordan, with a host of great and great-great nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
