John J. Johnson's Obituary
John Jeugene Johnson was born on June 11, 1928 in San Francisco, California to Paul Victor Johnson and Carrie Olivia Anderson Wallin Johnson.The thirteenth child of a minister, John enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving on active duty for two years during the Korean War. John was on the front line and was awarded the Bronze Star in defense of his country and comrades.Following his honorable discharge as a Sergeant, John returned to his hometown of San Francisco where he began his life-long career as a machinist, achieving the notable level of Master Tool and Die Maker.On December 6, 1955, John was united in holy matrimony to his life-long partner, Beverley Joan Moore of Tasmania, Australia. They moved to the San Mateo area and were blessed with four children, Helen June, Lance James, Sheldon Jay and Gregory John during their thirty-seven years together.On June 1, 1973, John was baptized into the Christian faith at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in San Mateo. He affirmed his faith on June 3, 1973 through the Rite of Confirmation at St. Matthew’s Episcopal. He practiced his faith in his daily life.John is preceded in death by his wife, Beverley, his parents Paul and Carrie, and twelve siblings Clarence, Hazel, Elvie, Carl, Paul Virgel, Phillip, Earl, Paul Victor, Ruth, Betty, John Howard and James, and his grandson Scott.He is survived by his four children and their spouses, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.John was called home to his heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.We give thanks for his earthy life and celebrate his eternal life with his Lord.
