November 23, 1930 – November 6, 2015John L. Chae, age 84, of Sunnyvale, CA passed away peacefully in the morning of Friday, November 6, 2015, at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. He left this world to be with the Lord after a year long illness.John was born November 23, 1930, in Korea, to Jae H. Chae and Hak Y. Lee. He has served in the Republic of Korea military during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. He immigrated to United States in the mid 1980’s and employed as a carpenter in Northern California Carpenters Union until he retired in 1997. He was a lifelong resident of Sunnyvale and an active member of the Dream Baptist Church.John had a passion for golfing and he was an avid golfer who played almost daily following his retirement.John is survived by his loving wife, Jin J. Huh; sons and daughters, Byung Francis, Sooka Chae, Heather Shikashio, Helen Chae-Lau, Karen Hong, Susan Chae, Sonny Rugani, Jon Lee, Jeff Lee; and many grandchildren who will miss him dearly.A celebration of John’s life will be held at the following locations:On November 11, 2015 at 5 pm: Dream Baptist Church, 2420 Foothill Blvd, Los Altos, CA 94024On November 12, 2015 at 10 am: Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 at Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA 94402He was a wonderful person and is in better place.
