John Michael Ansgarius' Obituary
John Michael Ansgarius (born John Michele Viganego on February 14, 1946) passed away on December 9, 2014 of complications of Parkinsons Disease.He was born in San Francisco and moved to Pacifica (then Pedro Valley) in 1954, just shy of 8 years old.He attended grade schools in Pacifica, graduating from Terra Nova in 1963. He attended College of San Mateo receiving his AA degree, then went to work for Pacific Bell in 1966. He retired in 1996 at age 50. After a retirement of three weeks, and deciding housework and cooking were not for him, he went to work for Ellypsis Technologies in Santa Cruz so he could surf at lunchtime! As his disease progressed he worked from home retiring in 2007. John was a man of many interests, including surfing, fishing, running, biking, working on cars, including his 1965 Chevelle. He also loved listening to the Blues and enjoyed fine red wine.His children and grandchildren are carrying on the tradition of surfing and fishing. John and his wife Enid were married in 1968. They have two sons, Mike born in 1971 (wife Melissa, children Kayla, Evan, Shane) and Tony born in 1976 (wife Jennifer, daughter Amara).John and Enid bought their first home on Adobe Drive in 1969, moving to Redwood Way in 1978. In 2006 they purchased a vacation home in Paradise, CA where he enjoyed his fruit trees and fishing local rivers.He and Enid took many trips and cruises including one to Italy in 2012.Services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Skylawn at 11:30 with a celebration of John’s life at Sharp Park Golf Course Restaurant.Donations in John’s memory can be made to the Michael J.
