John B. Anderson, aged 94, of Burlingame, died at Sunrise Senior Living in Burlingame on Wednesday afternoon, March 15th after a brief illness.John lead a life marked by hard work and achievement. He was born in 1922 to John and Betzy Anderson in Brooklyn, NY. After enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1942, John served in the Pacific Theater in WWII. In 1953, he married Gloria Zachmann, who predeceased in 1990.Following his military duty, John began his college electronic and electrical engineering education on the G.I. Bill, graduating from Pratt Institute. In 1947, he joined RCA Corporation and served as an engineer at both the application and management level for RCA for 32 years. He took part in pioneering projects in the areas of transistors, integrated circuitry, and computer electronics; and as part of NASA’s Apollo Project, helping put a man on the moon.In 1978. John and Gloria moved from Connecticut to Burlingame, where they remained for the rest of their lives.John is survived by his niece Alice Levy, nephew Arthur Anderson, and grandnephews Josh Anderson, Daniel Levy and Scott Levy; and niece Amanda Levy.A Memorial Service and Inurnment will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 24th at Skylawn Memorial Park, Route 35 at Highway 92 in San Mateo.
