JIN SUE HEUNG FONG's Obituary
Jin Sue Heung Fong, age 98, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 4, 2025 after a brief illness. Born in Long Yin Li village,Toishan, Kwangtung province, China, “Susie" was a loving wife to Harry S. Fong (predeceased 2018) for over 70 years. She leaves behind six children: Bea (David) Leibson, Anna (Gary) Lum, Nora (David Hiramoto) Fong, Katie (Mike) Taylor, David (Mei Shen) Fong and Alan (Masayo Kojima) Fong; twelve grandchildren: Jonathan Leibson, Julia (Wouter) Harryvan, Michael (Nhi) Lum, Chris Lum, Andrew (Katherine) Lum, Jennifer (Jonathan) Lee, Kenneth Hiramoto, Matthew (Elaine Martin) Taylor, Lucas Taylor, Anson Fong, Kyle Fong, and Ryan Fong; and ten great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Kwok Shiu Yan and sister, Siu Kuen Yu, and her siblings’ families.
Over the years, she worked as a shrimp deveiner, an antique store salesperson, an apprentice at a Chinese cheongsam store and later retired as a garment worker at Koret of California.
She loved playing mah jong, joining friends at Washington Square for Luk Tung Kuen exercise, hobnobbing in Chinatown, and trying her luck at casinos.
She lived a full and wonderful life and will be missed by many.
